(Excuse the lateness-she is now almost 8 months but I really wanted to record some 6-month happenings...)
Dear Afton-
So much happened in the month of June when you turned 6 months old. At lot more firsts. It's starting to get hard to keep up with all the new things you do. You have started to sit up although you are still VERY wobbly and fall over a lot. Luckily you are a pick-yourself-up-and-do-it-again type of girl. You still despise being on your stomach for more than a minute and seem to care less about crawling but I am OK with that. Instead you like to sit or lay on your back and play happily. You still aren't sleeping great and wake up a few times a night but we are working on it. You are however an awesome eater. You like just about everything mommy gives you (with the exception of peas and really I can't blame you. They are gross). Mom loves to make most of your baby food and you love to eat it!
You are a very happy baby. Always smiling and talking to yourself. You love to laugh at dad when he's being silly, which is just about all the time. I can already tell you are turning into a major ham just like him. You still have a soft spot for mom though and want me when you get cranky or tired. And I am ok with that. I love cuddling with you and will be sad when it doesn't happen as often. Out favorite time of the day is when you wake up in the morning. Usually about 4:30-5:30 am. I get you out of your crib and you get in bed with me! Dad is usually at work by this time so we have the big king bed to ourselves. I will feed you and then we fall asleep again for a couple hours. When you wake up you are all smiles and playing. You just want to roll around on the bed and make as much noise as you can so that mom will wake up to. Not gonna lie- it's nice sleeping in till 9 and I am taking advantage of it while I can!
You have had so many firsts lately. Your first ride on the boat (which you sadly didn't like very much because you hated your life jacket). You also got your very first sippy cup to drink from and drank water for the first time. You LOVE that. You got to meet A LOT of family for the first time this month. You met your Aunt Nichole and Uncle Chase and your cousins Beckham and Brielle. You and Beckham are best buds already (at least your moms insist you are and you guys go along with it because you don't know any better). You also got to meet your Great Grandma Adams and your Great Grandma Bringhurst who both adore you. And you met a ton of other Bringhurst at your first Bringhurst reunion. You also made your first trek to Utah/Idaho. You did great there and back and are such a great traveler already.
Your dad and I can't believe you are 6 months already and are wondering where the time went. We love you more everyday and love to see you learning new things all the time. We know you love us too because you smile for us on command ;-) We want you to know how blessed we feel every day to be your parents and we hope to be the best parents we can. Forgive us for not being as patient as we should sometimes and know that we pray every morning and night to be better for you. We love you.
